Robert Moshenko

Robert Moshenko was appointed to the Nunavik Marine Region Wildlife Board in 2011, re-appointed for another 4 years in 2015 and again re-appointed in 2019 by the Federal Minister of Fisheries and Oceans.  Robert began his career as a science school teacher before becoming a biologist employed first with the Manitoba Government and then with the Federal Department of Fisheries and Oceans – Central and Arctic Region. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons.), Bachelor of Education and a Master of Science degrees from the University of Manitoba. He has over 30 years of direct experience working in fisheries and wildlife research and management with the majority of focus on Arctic wildlife. Since his retirement as a biologist and resource manager in 1998 and until 2011, he has participated as a wildlife consultant and an agriculture sessional instructor at the University of Manitoba and Assiniboine College. During this same 13 year period, he has held several membership appointments and re-appointments, by Order in Council, to the Gwich’in Renewable Resources Board (Northwest Territories) and the Nunavut Wildlife Management Board. Robert continues to have close ties to land, water, agriculture and wildlife.
