Notice of Public Hearing – Management System for Beluga Whale Harvesting in Nunavik
ᐃᓄᓕᒫᓂᒃ ᑐᑭᓯᓂᐊᕐᕕᖃᕐᓂᓴᒥᒃ ᑐᓴᕐᑕᐅᑎᓯᒍᑏᑦ – ᐊᐅᓚᑦᓯᒍᑕᐅᔪᖅ ᕿᓚᓗᒐᕐᓂᐊᓂᕐᒧᑦ ᓄᓇᕕᒻᒥ

The Nunavik Marine Region Wildlife Board (NMRWB) and Eeyou Marine Region Wildlife Board (EMRWB) will hold an in-person hearing to consider modifying the Total Allowable Take (TAT) and Non-Quota Limitation (NQL) decisions regarding beluga in the Nunavik Marine Region, including the Inuit and Joint Zones contained within the Cree / Inuit Offshore Overlapping Interests Area.
The in-person hearing will be held on January 21st – 23rd, 2020. Prior to the hearing, the NMRWB and EMRWB are accepting written or oral submissions as well as additional information for the hearing process. The deadline to send your submission or additional information to the NMRWB is January 10th, 2020, 5pm.

Additionally, a report from the Nunavik beluga Working is posted which may help parties in formulating submissions.The bottom of the page will contain the Board’s best available knowledge on beluga in Nunavik (Posted on or before December 10th 2019). Party submissions and additional information submitted by non-parties will be posted before the submission deadline of January 10th, 2020.
