We are thrilled to announce that this year’s recipient of the Nunavik Marine Region Wildlife Board Scholarship is Elsie Uqittuq from Kangiqsujuaq. Elsie is currently studying Science at John Abbott College, with aspirations of becoming a veterinarian and exploring a potential future in wildlife management. The scholarship is awarded to outstanding post-secondary students from Nunavik, Quebec who are advancing their studies in Biology, Ecology, or related fields of Natural Science at fully accredited colleges or universities. It provides up to $1,000 to each recipient, reflecting the NMRWB’s commitment to fostering academic excellence and supporting the next generation of natural science professionals in Nunavik. Through this opportunity the NMRWB aims to encourage Inuit students to explore advanced education in Biology Sciences with the vision of filling natural science positions in the region with qualified Nunavimmiut. The NMRWB celebrates Elsie’s hard work and dedication and we look forward to supporting her in the future.
